Bike Window Project

Making The Final Outcome
I have now created the rest of the balloon out of recycled objects. The paint have made the cardboard not stay straight. To get around this, I am going to attach another 10cm cardboard around it again to make it more stable.
Making The Final Outcome
The paper mashay came out really bumpy and I wasn't happy with it. To make it look better, I added plaster bandage around the paper mashay. I like the outcome of this because it's not completely circle, so it gives it the air balloon special touch.
Making The Final Outcome
I have now created my box. I am going to create a bright sunset background that will pop out. To go with this background, I am going to create a paper mashay balloon to celebrate Bristol's Balloon Festival. I wanted to do this idea because it links in to what I wanted to do in my team, but a much smaller version.
 Making The Final Outcome
This is what all of our bases of our box looks like. I wasn't really enjoying this project before because I didn't know what would be our final outcome or how we are even going to get there. I am now starting to enjoy it because we know what we are going and it is less stressful.

Making The Final Outcome
After getting the layout right, the team who won showed a easy way to make out boxes. I am glad they did because I had no idea on how to create the box. They explained it really well and it was super easy to follow. I had to trace around my part on the bike and then  had to cut strips of 10cm pieces of card and stick them together. This will wrap around the whole of the box with less difficulty.
Getting Started
We are now getting on with the final idea. I am excited for the way this live project is going to turn out because it's going to be interesting to see everyone's boxes together. Here, we decided to make the outline of the bike as perfect as we can. This is because we will create the boxes using the scale. At first, we came across some problems with making the wheels the same size. To get around this, we used string and a pencil to do the correct measurements. Then, we drew out one wheel and traced it to create the second one.
Development: Different Roles To Play
For everyone to join in and get involved easily, we created a mini bike template and separated it in different sections. This will allow everyone to pick which area of a bike they would like to work on. I chose a part of a wheel. This is because it will be interesting to see what I can create in a different angle to what I am used to working in.
Example
This was the example that the winning team made to explain their idea more easier. We have all decided that the boxes will be 10 cm dept in, so was have to bare that in mind with creating the scene.
Development
First of all, we decided to create boxes in a shape of a bike. The team who won told us that they want Bristol themes in them while using blue, red, yellow and green in the background. The 3D items we make must be white or white with black outlines. We 6 large pieces of card together then began to draw around a bike. This will be the template for the sizes of the boxes we are going to create.
Outcome Of My Team's Idea: Voted Out
Today, we found out that the client has replied and voted the bike of thrones out. They liked both of the two remaining ideas and wanted the class to chose what one to develop into. The class decided to do a class vote after both teams presents their idea in more detail. I was a bit gutted but I also like the other team's idea too.
Experimenting With Photography
Here, I had one of my team mates hold up the balloon in the sky. I like how this photo has turned out because the sun is really bright and the balloon looks good in the sky.
 3 Top Ideas
Today through our class discussion, we have figured out our top 3 designs that we are going to present to our client. They top 3 ideas are: a throne made out of bike parts, a mobile hanging bike pieces/ bikes and the last idea is boxes with themes of Bristol inside of them. After that, we separated into 3 different teams depending on what idea appeals to us the most. I went into the mobile team because I liked the idea of everyone making a 3D bike, boat or balloon that represents the bike shop and Bristol.
While we were developing our idea, we have changed a few ideas. First of all, we were going to have the mobile as a bike wheel that would have bikes hanging down from it. Now, we are going to have the suspension bridge as our theme and have everything surrounding that. I like this idea better because it is a bigger scale and everyone can spread things out instead of cramping everything in.

Here, I am making a mini model of a balloon and bikes in multiple mix medias. The balloon is made out of a yogurt pot, sticks and newspaper. The bikes that I have made are made out of bottle lids, paper, wood and sticks. If the client like our idea the most, I would be making the balloon out of paper ma-shay and the box out of cardboard.

Live Brief
We have been told that we have been given a live brief. This brief is to do a 3D window display in a bike shop. Everyone went away to come up with ideas and then had a class discussion. We are not completely sure on what we are going to do or how we are going to do yet but we have had some good ideas as a class. After the discussion, we were told to play around with some materials. I didn't know what to do until I saw the materials available. When I saw the plastic lids, I automatically thought that could be wheels and the ideas went from there. The outcome of this activity has came out good. It is clear on what I was making and it is straight to the point.
